The Good Samaritans’ 24th Annual Gala, Some Enchanted Evening, raised $411,000 to benefit Good Samaritan Hospital’s Radiation Oncology Department and the Medical Education Research Fund. Funds will be used to purchase a High Dose Radiation Unit for the Radiation Oncology Department.
More than 625 supporters of the Good Samaritan Foundation gathered at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, where guests were greeted with authentic Hawaiian leis and treated to a cocktail reception with Mai Tai and Hula signature drinks, and a Polynesian-themed dinner. After dinner they danced the night away to the sounds of Party On The Moon, a show band from Atlanta. Attendees enjoyed a chocolate fountain, coffee bar and caricature illustrations.
The Good Samaritan Hospital Medical and Dental Staff generously underwrote the cost of the entertainment. Corporate sponsors included AK Steel; Cardiac, Vascular & Thoracic Surgeons; Fifth Third Bank; Macy’s; Phillips Supply Co.; SC Ministry Foundation and the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati; The Cincinnati Reds; and Tri-State Maternal-Fetal Medicine Associates, Inc.. These generous underwriting and sponsorship donations had a substantial impact on the fund-raising efforts for this annual event.
The Good Samaritans is a dedicated volunteer organization of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation and includes members with ties to the medical and business community. The Good Samaritans have raised more than $4.1 million in their history. This year’s Gala Chair was Susan Manegold. Linda Long was Co-Chair. They worked diligently with other committees, and with physician champion, Susan Feeney MD.
