Established in 1997 with a gift from E. Kenneth Hatton, MD, the Hatton Institute is recognized as a leader in biomedical research, education and innovation.
The Hatton Institute conducts research and education that advance the detection and treatment of disease and enhances patient care. Perhaps most importantly, the Hatton Institute fosters a collegial environment in which research and education are valued and supported.
Staff physicians and surgeons, teaching faculty, and residents are equipped to pursue a wide scope of research interests. Working closely with investigators, Hatton Institute staff helps develop and conduct research protocols, carry out clinical trials, design software programs, collect and analyze patient data, prepare presentations, and write manuscripts.
Robotic-assisted surgery is the next revolution in health care. Good Samaritan Hospital is at the forefront with the Good Samaritan Center for Robotic-Assisted Surgery and the Hatton Institute is an integral component.
The Hatton Institute is designated by Intuitive Surgical, the makers of the da Vinci surgical systems, as one of only a handful of robotic-assisted surgery training and research sites in the world. Our staff has trained teams from Australia, Germany and Denmark, as well as teams from nationally recognized hospitals, such as Johns Hopkins Medical Center and The Cleveland Clinic.
Your support can help the Hatton Institute remain a leader in the medical research community and accomplish our common goal of “working together for a healthier tomorrow”.
