The Sports Medicine Program’s mission is to enhance the heath status of the people it serves, specifically
within the field of sports and physical activity. They serve this mission by providing a full range of health
related services that include prevention, wellness, and education.
Since the Program’s creation in 1997, it has developed a reputation for therapeutic innovation, creation of
best practice protocols, service excellence, and quality patient care that has received both regional and national
recognition.
As this vision has been followed, the Sports Medicine Program has established strong core values that facilitated the
creation of a system of care to many of our schools, teams and the general community. It is the Institute's ability to
offer that system of care; their integrity in delivering quality services and exceeding the expectations of those
they serve that has made them not only stand out in the community, but become an integral part of the community.
The Sports Institute is a focal point for a variety of educational activities that include community awareness,
coach’s mandatory training, development of a speaker’s bureau and clinical focused seminars, and provide school
internship and shadowing opportunities to provide students with the opportunity to experience and observe
healthcare careers in action.
The Sports Institute is a location for Saturday morning Sports Medicine Clinics and
dedicated therapeutic intervention on a year round basis. The Institute is focused on evidence-based clinical
research that would lead to best practice models of Sports Medicine Care. The Institute initiates a strategy
to work with other Sports Medicine Programs to improve the care of the people it serves.
The Sports Institute sets the community standard for providing evidence-based high quality care to those schools
and school districts that are un-served or under-served to create equality for the student athletes in the
Cincinnati region. The Institute creates, outfits and funds the community standard for sports medicine
facilities within our schools.
The Sports Institute evaluates and implements the leading edge procedures,
technologies and equipment to best serve our student athletes, creating a wonderful
opportunity to target the families of our athletes with the TriHealth System of Care.
Support Sports Medicine and their plans to served the community with a gift to
the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation.
